Easy, just take her to White Castle on Valentine's Day!A friend recently asked me for inexpensive ways to celebrate with her beau this upcoming weekend and after some research I gave her very personal and unique ideas that are sure to make their day special way outside of flowers, candy and the cliche stroll in Central Park.
Afterwards I continued my search for unconventional ways to shower the one you love with...um, love. Anyways, I came across some good, some bad and some just down-right nutty that I'd like to share with you. Below please find a list of cheap (or even free!) Valentine's Day Events for all of my Recessionistas:
1) White Castle- Did you now that at select locations, White Castle is offering sit-down, waitered service complete with candle-light, red table clothes and a special couples menu. Yes, crazy I know! But it would definitely make for a great "How I met your mother" story...NOT! Strangely enough, reservations are going fast in NYC, so click HERE to make yours today.
2) The PIT Dating Game @ the Peoples Improv Theatre- Ever wonder about what kind of people go on those crazy dating shows in search of love? Well, wonder no more because at the Peoples Improv Theatre, three singles will actually take the stage armed with outrageous questions to chose their Valentine's Day match. For only $12, you can be there live watching all the magic unfold. Past "winners" have gone on to get married, one couple has a baby and another is expecting. 3) He's Just Not That Into You- So I haven't seen this movie yet but I heard it's pretty darn good whether you're single, on a first date or out with your other half. Starring a ridiculous surplus of Hollywood eye-candy from Scarlette Johanson to Ben Affleck, this film is sure to start a couple of great debates about that cat-and-mouse-game we call dating. About $9 and playing at a theater near you!
